FERRERO MAINTAINS GOLD STATUS FOR SUSTAINABILTY

Ferrero Australia has been recognised for its sustainability practices at Sustainability Advantage NSW’s recognition award ceremony, securing its Gold Partner status for a second time.

The recognition for Gold Partner was acknowledged at an event on 14th June in Sydney. Gabrielle Upton, Minister for Environment and Heritage, honoured Ferrero Australia and other companies that have adopted sustainable business practices and are helping build a resilient NSW economy.

Organisations participating in Sustainability Advantage NSW’s scheme, a flagship Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) program, have improved their environmental performance while generating millions in annual savings. OEH reports that the program is generating $110 million in savings every year.

OEH Director of Sustainability Programs, Cristien Hickey, said the initiative — now in its 12th year - has helped over 600 businesses and organisations reduce costs, create new products and help the environment.

"The program goes from strength-to-strength, helping businesses build resilience through improved productivity and more efficient use of resources.

"All partners are to be congratulated for changing their business processes, embracing new technologies, shifting attitudes and adapting behaviours to benefit the environment — both in their organisations and communities," Ms Hickey said.

The accolade is evidence of Ferrero Australia’s on-going innovation and long-term commitment to quality and
sustainable best practice.
